Full-arch implant bridges:
All-on-4 and All-on-6
Understanding full-arch fixed implant restorations in Saint-Genis-Pouilly.
What is a full-arch implant bridge?
A full-arch bridge replaces all the teeth in one arch and is supported by several implants. It stays fixed in the mouth rather than being removed daily like a removable denture. A screw-retained bridge can be removed by a dentist for certain maintenance procedures.
What do All-on-4, All-on-four and All-on-6 mean?
All-on-4, also written “All-on-four”, refers to a full-arch rehabilitation approach using four implants. All-on-6 refers to rehabilitation using six implants. These names alone do not determine the right treatment for an individual patient.
Planning takes account of available bone, implant positions, the planned restoration and access for cleaning. A clinical examination and any necessary investigations are required.
Who may benefit from an assessment?
People missing all teeth in an arch, or those considering comprehensive dental rehabilitation. Options for retaining existing teeth are assessed before extraction decisions. Both fixed and removable alternatives are discussed.
Your treatment journey
- Assessment: discussing your expectations, examining your mouth and reviewing any necessary investigations.
- Options: explaining the possibilities, limitations, risks and an individual cost estimate.
- Planning: organising the surgical and restorative stages for the chosen treatment.
- Follow-up: reviewing and maintaining the bridge and tissues around the implants.
Maintenance and limitations
A fixed implant bridge requires appropriate daily cleaning and regular follow-up. Biological and mechanical complications can occur. Your dentist explains the expected benefits, risks and alternatives before a decision is made.

Your questions
Can I have fixed teeth on the day of surgery?
Immediate loading may be considered only in selected cases. It depends on clinical criteria assessed by the dentist and cannot be guaranteed.
How much does All-on-4 or All-on-6 cost?
The cost depends on your assessment, any necessary procedures, the number of implants and the restoration. An individual estimate explains each stage; a fixed price cannot be provided without assessment.
Four or six implants: how is this decided?
The number is selected as part of an individual restorative plan considering anatomy, implant distribution and the requirements of the prosthesis.
